MIAKA PALMIERI - PRESIDENT

Miaka left Corporate America as a Paralegal/Operations Manager in 2009 to pursue her passion for Animal Rescue/Rehabilitation and Jewelry Design/Manufacturing.

Miaka volunteered at a horse rescue in North GA for 3 years, where she was also a member of the Fundraising Committee as their Special Events Coordinator. In short order, she became immersed in caring for the extremely critically ill horses at the rescue. These experiences are the inspiration for the creation of "For The Love Of A Horse" organization.

Together, with the dedication and devotion of the other members of "FTLOAH", she will oversee the health and welfare of FTLOAH horses, further develop our program to reach broad audiences and most importantly, ensure we can provide a second chance for a new beginning in a horses' life.

kathyandgracie KATHY IVY - VICE PRESIDENT

Kathy Ivy is retired from the corporate world where she worked for a software company for 22 years. She's an animal lover and always knew she loved horses but never had the opportunity to be around them. She knew she would someday own one and she wanted to learn all she could about them and how to take care of them first. After she retired she started looking for somewhere to volunteer and she found a horse rescue in GA where she volunteered her time for 7 years. She helped to rehabilitate many horses, two of which she has since adopted.

Kathy says "this is what it's about. You take a horse, you try to help it, and you see it progress to health and happiness. I've been doing this for almost 8 years and still to this day, when I see a situation like Gracie's, it brings so much joy to my heart. It regenerates me and makes me enthusiastic about what I do as a volunteer."

Having grown up on a farm in the West of Ireland, Sheelagh has had a love of animals from an early age. Annual vacations to a dude ranch in Wyoming from the mid-1990's further developed her love of horses.
